What is Ledge Stone?

Ledge Stone veneer is manufactured with controlled height variations and consistent thickness to create horizontal coursing patterns that emphasize linear shadow lines. The stone pieces are produced in multiple height increments, typically ranging from 2 to 8 inches, allowing installers to stack courses while maintaining natural irregularity. This dimensional control separates manufactured ledge from fully random fieldstone, providing predictable layout capabilities without sacrificing visual texture. Installation is performed using standard thinset mortar over approved substrates, with the uniform back surface ensuring proper adhesion and consistent depth across the wall plane. The stone faces maintain natural texture variation — some pieces feature split faces while others show tumbled or weathered surfaces — creating depth and preventing a uniform, manufactured appearance. Material is supplied in both corner units and field pieces, with corners featuring two finished faces that meet at 90 degrees for seamless exterior and interior corner transitions.
